# An unexpected handy trick in Excel (and Google Docs): right... face!

Everyone who uses Excel or Google Docs in their daily work knows that when you fill in a cell and press Enter, the active cell becomes the one below the current one (the next one in the column, not in the row). But we often fill in documents along a row, not down a column, probably because we read left to right, not top to bottom :)

Attention! I've just discovered a little lifehack for moving along a row conveniently while you work: all you have to do is **select the whole row** first, and then **Enter moves you to the right**, not down.

As far as I remember, you can also reassign the Enter key's behavior altogether so that it always works like this, but you'll agree that my way is more flexible and can come in handy :)
