# How to install Dropbox on Linux Mint Isadora / Rosinka 9

I think it's **worth** writing up my finds on all sorts of technical questions on the blog: someone might google the same thing.

[Dropbox](https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTY4ODU5ODM5) took several hours to install on Rosinka, the Russian edition of Linux Mint. *It's all so complicated when you're a* [*n00b*](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newbie) *:)*

Now I'm not even sure **what exactly** helped. Anyway, this is the order:

1. Don't install Dropbox through the package manager or the software manager.

2. In the file `/etc/apt/sources.list.d/dropbox.list`, literally replace "isadora" with "lucid".

   You can do that like this: open a terminal and type:

   ```
   sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dropbox.list
   ```

3. Then you can try typing this in the terminal (if you're not sure whether you have 32 or 64 bits, choose 32).

   For 32-bit:

   ```
   cd ~
   rm -rf .dropbox-dist/
   rm dropbox*
   wget http://dl-web.dropbox.com/u/17/dropbox-lnx.x86-0.8.67.tar.gz
   tar -xzf dropbox*
   ```

   For 64-bit:

   ```
   cd ~
   rm -rf .dropbox-dist/
   rm dropbox*
   wget http://dl-web.dropbox.com/u/17/dropbox-lnx.x86_64-0.8.67.tar.gz
   tar -xzf dropbox*
   ```
