# Infinite scrolling on Tumblr

As I said in my note "[What I like about Tumblr](https://www.99rabbits.com/blog/what-i-like-about-tumblr)", infinite scrolling is a great thing for the lazy.

The problem is that not every theme for the platform has it built in. But it turns out there's a simple script that lets you easily make your theme infinite.

The instructions from this post worked for me: [Making your Tumblr an Endless Scrolling page](http://tumblring.net/making-your-tumblr-an-endless-scrolling-page/), though obviously it isn't the only way.

So, **option 1**:

Go to "Customize appearance" → "Description" and paste this line there:

```
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://codysherman.com/tools/infinite-scrolling/code"></script>
```

Save and check. Did it help? Great! No? Read on:

**Option 2:**

Remove that line from the description and go to editing the theme's HTML: "Edit HTML".

Search this abyss of incomprehensible characters for the `</head>` tag and paste the line before it.

Save and check again. Wrong again, dear? Then it's

**option 3** (the one that helped me):

Delete the code (the same line again) from the HTML and paste it back into the description.

Go to the HTML again and look for `{block:Posts}`.

Paste this in front of it:

```
<div class = "autopagerize_page_element" >
```

Then look further for the closing tag `{/block:Posts}`

and paste this after it:

```
</div>
```

That's it, now it definitely works. If it doesn't, it's not my fault :)
