#TEDxKyiv is over, and I have a few remarks

Thanks to the organizers for #tedxkyiv! It was all great!

For some reason, though:

First, many people decided that Gleb Usakovsky was promoting himself, though who was there to promote himself to… Apparently they just didn’t get what he was talking about. I was very embarrassed by the attack on him, the mention of the TED Commandments and one of the hosts’ simply idiotic reply.

Second, judging by the feedback on Twitter, everyone loved Bear Stauss: supposedly he fits the TED.com format, and he even did morning exercises on stage. In my opinion, though, his talk was about absolutely nothing. Apparently everyone just liked him saying that Ukraine is not Russia.

The TED format really is about new ideas. What is Bear Stauss’s idea? His idea is to amuse the audience with his perky motivational speeches. That’s it.

Third, the PR for raguli (slang for boorish provincials) by Tatiana Mykytenko, on the other hand, was obvious. Though her talk did have an idea, and not a bad one.

I liked the talks by Tatiana Montyan and Isaac Kushnir best of all. Huge thanks to everyone who spoke and who organized it. Let’s do it again!

P.S. Let’s do it again, but in a heated venue, okay?
