There’s always room for improvement

I once told the story on Twitter of how a friend helped me with a kitchen drawer that opened by itself. For some reason it always tried to slide open on its own. My friend advised putting a 5-kopek coin under the table leg. It helped. We concluded that solving the problem had cost us just 5 kopeks. Cheap, isn’t it?

Soon something happened, and the drawer started sliding out again, coin or no coin. I found what I think is an even more elegant solution. The kitchen towel is always lying around here and there, and I’ve never gotten around to giving it a hook. It turned out to be handy to hang the towel on that very drawer: the drawer stays shut and the towel has a job ;)

Why am I telling you this nonsense? There’s always a way to make something a little bit better. Even if the previous solution cost only 5 kopeks.
