An update to VKontakte’s comments widget, and some new little features

The comments widget from VKontakte, the Russian social network, which I wrote about earlier, has finally got a system for moderating comments. So now it’s more or less usable. I’ve hooked it back up to the products in the Alisa online store.

Even so, the comment form displays crookedly in every version of IE: the text field periodically shrinks to a strip about 5px wide. Unpleasant.

The new little features are a widget à la Facebook “Like”, “I like this”, and a widget for groups. In Explorer, again, glitches have been spotted in the “I like” button. Just as you’d expect.

Conclusion: it’s too early to show such things to users who’ve been cursed with Explorer :(

The new features are useful and interesting, given VKontakte’s audience. We’ll see how users react to them.

Update, March 1, 2011. It looks like the comments widget now works better in Explorer. So now, I suppose, it can be shown to users of that dinosaur too.
