The developers of VKontakte, the Russian social network, apparently didn’t want to leak traffic to online stores, so they left the URL of the wished-for product out of the wish list. Take a look at the list of parameters for creating the “I want this as a gift” button.
When you go to “Friends’ wishes”, you can’t go through to the wished-for product in the online store, but you can pay for it, that is, give it as a gift.
The logic, apparently, is to promote VKontakte’s own payment service for online stores. But! How do you pay for a gift in an online store you don’t know? What’s more, what if you need to choose a color or size in the store? What about finding out the delivery terms? Was the service really designed with only Ozon.ru, the big Russian online store, in mind?
Maybe I haven’t fully figured out the technology? I hope the service will develop and change its format; otherwise its uses are very limited.
