How to find a good job?

Lots of students graduating from university this year must already be tormented by the questions “How do I dodge the draft?” and “How do I find a good job?”.

My answer is this: find any job first. Bad, average, low-paid or monotonous: ANY job!
The whole trick is to start doing something, anything, right away. After that, provided you want to grow and learn (not the way you did at university, but for real, picking up skills people actually need), everything will start to work out.

It’s like a ball of yarn: you only have to pull the loose end for it to start unwinding.

You’ll suddenly find there’s an opportunity here, and this guy can tell you about a job, and that one is about to start a new business and may need staff.

Don’t overrate yourself. Ukrainian universities today teach you to pass exams, not to do anything useful, so don’t count on being snapped up on the spot, hands, “golden” head and all. And don’t wait for it. Go and learn to work wherever they’ll take you.
